Students
First Baptist Church seeks to minister to students of all ages, from middle school through college.
In our Youth Ministry, Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade) and High Schoolers (9th-12th grade) find a place to engage their faith in the company of friends and the comfort of a family of faith. On Sunday mornings, we engage Holy Scripture and see how it relates to the lives of youth. On Wednesday evenings, we explore how our faith should influence our lives through serving God and our neighbors. Throughout the year, we engage in mission projects both in Macon and throughout the world. From supporting FBC’s mission at The Ricks Institute in Liberia to hosting Christmas parties at the Diversity House, Macon’s HIV/AIDS housing and resource center, our youth find places to serve that fit their deep desires.
In our College Ministry, InSpire, local college students from Macon’s 3 colleges and universities - Macon State College, Mercer University, and Wesleyan College - find a place to ask the difficult questions of a college student’s life: What am I going to do when I graduate? How do serve God and neighbor while balancing college education? Who is God calling me to be? We gather on Sunday mornings from 10:15 to 10:45 am for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. On Tuesday evenings, students gather at Mercer University for the Cooperative Student Fellowship (CSF). CSF is open for any students who wish to grow in faith, serve others, and fellowship with other students. Sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of GA and FBC, CSF offers mission opportunities to students, including 11 on 11, NOWServing, and a Spring Break Mission Trip.
